ALIEN: COVENANT In Utero is a 360-degree virtual reality journey into a living nightmare and offers a terrifyingly close and personal encounter as an alien neomorph at the time of its birth. Fans will be able to experience the world around them, reliving the very first memories of the neomorph in an immersive environment.

Alien : Covenant In Utero was launched to promote the release of Alien : Covenant. It is likely the most successful 360 video marketing campaign in Fox’s history. It was released on 8 platforms, translated into 12 different languages and integrated into 20+ domestic and international activations around the world.

In Utero was rendered as a 4k stereoscopic video using MPC’s extensive theatrical rendering pipeline. It was a fascinating experience for me and from it I gained a solid understanding of the technologies and pipelines used in the VFX film industry

For a linear 360 video, we conquered a ton of unexpected challenges during production including : realistic gore, extensive distributed rendering, and film VFX assets

In Utero is my favorite 360 video project I worked on at Fox. I love the high concept, execution, IP, and incredible partners we worked with including Director David Karlak, Executive Producer Jen Dennis, Producer Logan Brown, the entire Q Department audio team.
