Description :
The Verizon x Chainsmokers AR experience is a suite of next-generation mobile AR experiences created to promote Verizon’s 5G network and The Chainsmokers 11/29 concert at the Chase Center in San Francisco, CA. Exclusively sponsored by Verizon, this project included both a custom-crafted AR app made available to all concert attendees as well as the first-ever 5G-powered live AR experience.
The 5G app was built for Note10 phones, ran on Verizon’s 5G network, and delivered the world’s first live, interactive & multi-user AR concert. During the Chainsmokers’ performance of “Call You Mine”, VIPs witnessed a completely synchronized AR concert experience that was localized to their location within the venue. Before and after “Call You Mine” VIPs could use the Activated Arena module to experience a dynamic audio-reactive 3D content spatially located around the stage.
The 4G apps included a Chainsmokers themed Live Filter, activation-supported AR Photo Opp, geolocked AR Portal, and AR Post Show module that allowed users to watch an AR recap video.

The Verizon x Chainsmokers AR Experience was the fourth AR experience I built at PortalsXR. The 5G app was custom-built for Samsung Note10 devices and the 4G app supported iOS 8+, Galaxy 8+, and Pixel 2+ devices.

The 5G experience delivered the first-ever 5G-powered live AR experience. It was an incredible experience collaborating with great teams at Verizon & Live Nation on the app and physical installation at the Chase Center

This was my first experience working with 5G networks and I learned an incredible amount about how best to maximize the power of this burgeoning technology.
